Professional Site Redesign Tools

I picked up a few skills and relied on a few new resources for the redesign of my professional site.

I read this article on Responsive Background Images: http://elliotjaystocks.com/blog/better-background-images-for-responsive-web-design/

I also coded my first PHP script, a simple form mailer for the contact form, with help from http://www.webdevfaqs.com/php.php and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rdsz9Ie6h7I.

I didn’t know what I wanted for the design, and I tried to learn different templates and frameworks while doing this project, so the site’s design reflects the framework I ended up with. I’m open to another redesign sooner rather than later.

When I return to this project, I want to learn how to do includes for the header, footer and any other repeated elements. I’d also like to move this blog to self-hosted WordPress and fold it into the site.

For now, though, I’ll be getting into programming with CS50X.
